Fillmore Avenue and the buried Scajaquada Creek 1920's

Looking south along Fillmore Avenue just past Northland Street, late 1920's. The Scajaquada Drain Project has been completed
at this location. Note the slight rise in the pavement; below ground the Scajaquada Creek flows through a man-made channel. In
the far distance are the twin steeples of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church (1906-1978).

The same view in 2003. Where the underground drain crosses Fillmore Avenue is still represented by a noticeable
elevation spanning the street. In the far distance is the former St. Mary Magdalene Church, now reborn as the
Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
